Flying insects
Flies
Houseflies have one pair of membranous wings and their hind wings are modified as halters.
We do not treat flies that occur because of decaying food in waste or dust bins or in kitchens unless they are severe enough and contained. In order to obtain the best results, the use of insecticide should be integrated with good hygiene practices.
We do treat cluster flies. These usually occur after the first frost on warm days when they emerge from lofts or similar spaces where they have been during the winter. They tend to gather together by windows trying to get outside, which has led to their name cluster flies (as they cluster in a group).
