The last scheduled election that took place in this area was to elect councillors to Leicestershire County Council. This took place on 1 May 2025. You can find the results on our election results 2025 page
The next scheduled election is due to take place on 6 May 2027, to elect councillors to Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and all parishes in the Hinckley and Bosworth area.
By-elections
Parish by-elections (7 August 2025)
- Elections to fill vacancies on the following parish councils are due to take place on 7 August 2025:
- Barwell Parish Council – St Marys ward
- Earl Shilton Town Council – Townlands ward

- Deadline to submit nominations: 4pm, 11 July 2025
- Guidance and nomination papers for prospective candidates may be downloaded from the Electoral Commission (electoralcommission.org.uk)
- Nominations must be submitted in person, by appointment. Please contact Electoral Services online or call 01455 238141 to make an appointment
- If the election is contested, a poll will be held on 7 August 2025
Parish by-elections (10 July 2025)
- Elections to fill vacancies on the following parish councils are due to take place on 10 July 2025:
- Barwell Parish Council – Redhall ward
- Burbage Parish Council – Tilton ward

- The deadline to submit nominations was 4pm on Friday 13 June 2025. View the statements of persons nominated:
- As there were not enough nominations received for there to be contests in all wards of Witherley Parish Council, all those who were validly nominated are elected uncontested. View the notices of uncontested election for Witherley Parish Council (all wards)
- Polling will take place between the hours of 7am and 10pm on 10 July 2025. View the notices of poll and situation of polling stations
- Results will be published on the election results 2025 page as soon as practicable
Market Bosworth Neighbourhood Planning Referendum (10 July 2025)
A referendum to decide if the reviewed Market Bosworth Neighbourhood Plan should be 'made' will take place on Thursday 10 July 2025.
