How to invite the Mayor to an event
Please feel free to invite the Mayor to take part in your event, such as a competition, presenting prizes or certificates, drawing a raffle, making an opening or closing speech.
When thinking about what information you need to include with your invitation, be sure to enclose the essential details below:
- What the event is
- The date and time
- The venue address
- The Mayor's involvement
Inviting the Mayor to your event is simple; you can invite the Mayor online.
You can also email your request, telephone, or write to us preferably at least four weeks before the event.
We will do the upmost to contact you within seven days of receiving the invite to confirm whether the Mayor is able to accept the invitation or not.
All invitations to the Mayor must be sent via Democratic Services to ensure that the Mayor's diary is managed efficiently.
