Tenants' responsibilities
If your ability to pay your rent has been adversely affected by the increase in the cost of living, then please contact us using our tenancy management contact form or telephone us on 01455 255861.
When you signed for your tenancy, all rent charges and payment methods will have been explained to you, but if you need to go through these again, a member of the Rents Team will be happy to discuss your options.
Rent is charged for your tenancy on a weekly basis and becomes due for payment on the Monday of each week, but payment methods for fortnightly, four-weekly or monthly payments can be made. Further information on various ways to pay your rent is available. As a tenant of the council, it is your responsibility to make sure that your rent is paid on time, and that you keep to any payment plan you make.
If you need to make changes to your payment plan, or fall into financial difficulty, it is vital that you contact the Rents Team, as failure to pay your rent when due can lead to action being taken to recover the money owed. Your tenancy may be at risk if you do not pay your rent.
