Personal safety

The chances of you or your family and friends becoming a victim of a violent crime are low. Cases of violent crime are comparatively rare and account for a very small proportion of all recorded crimes. By taking sensible precautions in the home and when you're out and about, you can reduce the risk of becoming a victim.

Your safety and the safety of those around you is important and you should be aware of what steps you can take to maintain this. Leicestershire Police have a set of guidelines and advice you can follow which can improve your safety at home and whilst you are out and about. Further, free advice on personal safety may be available by contacting your local Neighbourhood Policing Team (leics.pcc.police.uk).

For contact details about your neighbourhood team, please visit what's happening in your area? (leics.police.uk) and then provide your postcode to find information on your area.
