How a business rating is worked out
What do we look at?
Three areas are assessed with regard to compliance with food law:
- Food hygiene practices and procedures
- Structure and cleanliness
- Confidence in management
You should note that any rating awarded does not reflect the quality of food or the standard of service provided to customers.
All business operators are encouraged to display their award sticker, which should be the most recent one they have been given.
Food business operators
As a food business operator, you may wish to appeal against your score, request a revisit to be rescored and/or post a 'right to reply'.
