Healthy eating for young children
It seems obvious, but young children do not need as much food as an adult. Serving meals on child-size plates can be helpful. You can find information about food, recipes, activity and school height and weight checks (nhs.uk)
Although we are often told to 'clear our plates' at meal times, it is important to recognise that, once a child is full, there is no benefit in making them clear their plate. Instead, offer them a bit less next time. If the child is still hungry, they will tell you.
