Mental health support for children and young people
Useful links for young people's mental health services:
- NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (leicspart.nhs.uk) offers a range of support for children and young peoples mental health and overall well-being. There’s also information for parents, carers and professionals on the support which is available
- NHS my self-referral (myselfreferral-llr.nhs.uk) is a new self-referral website to support the mental health of children and young people (CYP) living in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The website, developed with input from young people likely to use the site, is now live to help under 18s, their parents or carers find the right mental health information and support, including the option to complete a self-referral
- Health for teens (healthforteens.co.uk) is a brilliant resource for young people to find out more about health, including topics such as: feelings, growing up, health, lifestyle, relationships and sexual health. Young people can also access localised information, news and key resources
- Kooth (kooth.com) is an online services that offers individuals a safe community to support their mental health
- Childline (childline.org.uk) is a free, private confidential service where you can talk about anything, online or on the phone at anytime with trained counsellors ready to support and help anyone under 19 with their issues. Calls are also free on 0800 1111
- TellMi (tellmi.help) for individuals aged eleven and older seeking mental health support, Tellmi is a digital mental health solution which is avaliable online and via their app. It promotes self-help as a means to enhance mental health and wellbeing. It offers anonymous, pre-moderate and age-banded peer support along with a directory of national and local services. Through the Tellmi App (tellmi.app), users can also book text-based one-on-one therapy sessions. Tellmi Therapy employs a solution-focused approach, encouraging individuals to identify their existing strengths. and concentrate on what they can achieve. rather than on obstacles.
