Offences relating to green spaces
Cooking and barbecuing
Within our public space protection order, cooking and barbequing is not allowed on:
- Any protected park or open space owned or maintained by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
- Any park or open space managed by a parish council within the administration area
Unless there is a reasonable excuse for doing so, or the owner of the land has given consent.
Camping
Within our public space protection order you cannot remain overnight in any vehicle or temporary structure that is designed to provide accommodation on:
- Any protected park or open space owned or maintained by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
- Any park or open space managed by a parish council within the administration area
Unless you have a reasonable excuse to do so, the owner of the land has given consent, or we consider you to be homeless.
Radio controlled vehicles
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you fail to immediately cease the operation of a remote controlled vehicle on:
- Any protected park or open space owned or maintained by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
- Any park or open space managed by a parish council within the administration area
Unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so, or the owner of the land has given consent.
Motorcycles and any other motorised vehicles
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you fail to immediately cease the operation of motorcycles, mini-bikes, quad bikes or any other motorised vehicle on:
- Any protected park or open space owned or maintained by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
- Any park or open space managed by a parish council within the administration area
Unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so, or the owner of the land has given consent.
Direction to move on
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you fail to comply immediately with a direction given by an authorised officer to move on from any of the following locations within:
- Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
- Any parish council within the administration area
To move on from any location, you must move to a specified proximity and for such period as directed by the authorised officer. This applies unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so, or the owner of the land has given consent.
An authorised officer may only give a direction under this part of the order if the direction is reasonably necessary to prevent nuisance or behaviour by a person that is likely to cause annoyance or disturbance to any other person.
Horse riding and the use of horse carriages
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you fail to comply immediately with a direction given by an authorised officer of the Parish Council of Bagworth and Thornton to cease to ride on a horse or in a horse carriage in any park or on any open land owned or managed by Bagworth and Thornton Parish Council, unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so or the owner of the land has given consent.
Golf
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you play or practice the playing of golf in any park or on any open land owned or managed by Peckleton Parish Council, unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so or the owner of the land has given consent.
Restriction on horses
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you permit the use of horses under your care or control of any park or on any open land owned or managed by Peckleton Parish Council & Newbold Parish Council unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so or the owner of the land has given consent.
Parking on green spaces on Mallory Close, Newbold Verdon
Within our public space protection order, an offence will be committed if you park any type of motorised vehicle on any green space on Mallory Close in the Parish of Newbold Verdon, unless you have a reasonable excuse for failing to do so or the owner of the land has given consent.
