Wykin Park
About Wykin Park
The play area at Wykin Park was designed for use by toddlers and juniors up to the age of 14 years and was installed thanks to money left to the council in the will of a local man called Archie Marriott. His wish being "to provide a play area for the children of Hinckley".
A multi-use games area was installed in 2008 thanks to part funding by the Big Lottery’s children’s play programme.
Further works to improve this site were completed in 2009 and included new footpaths, improved entrance points, an extension to the allotments and the provision of further benches, bins and signage around the site.
An outdoor gym area was installed in 2020 for use by adults and children over 14 years of age.
400 trees and 120 metres of hedging were planted in 2022 and 2023 to improve the biodiversity of the site.
