Do's and don'ts when dismantling asbestos structures
Please do:
- Make sure that you keep everyone out of the area who does not need to be there
- Take care not to create dust
- Keep the material wet, whenever possible
- Wear protective clothing and a mask
- Clean up with a vacuum cleaner which complies with BS 5415 (Type H)
- Consider weather conditions
Please do not:
- Break up large pieces of asbestos materials
- Use high speed power tools as they create high levels of dust
- Expose other people who have no protection
