How to apply for a lottery registration
Fees and how to apply
Fees
The initial application fee is £40.
You can apply online for a small (non-commercial) society lottery registration (known as a lottery licence).
Alternatively, we can send you an application form: contact Licensing
Annual fee
The annual fee for the ongoing registration of the society is £20 and this is payable within two months of the anniversary of the original registration. The annual fee is to maintain the registration of the society with the local authority and is payable whether or not the society has held a lottery in the past 12 months or not.
Non payment of the annual fee will mean that the registration will lapse and you will not be licensed to hold a lottery.
Invoices
An invoice for the annual fee will be sent out to the nominated contact person for your society and you will not have to fill in another application form. Please note, it is essential that you notify us of any change of details so that we send the invoice to the correct person.
Exempt lotteries
Other types of lotteries which fall into an exempt category are incidental non-commercial lotteries, a private society lottery, and a work lottery or a resident's lottery.
