Garden (green waste) recycling service

Things to know before you subscribe

New residents

If you are a new resident to the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth, you can order a garden waste bin for your new home

The same charge of £47.50 applies.

Ordering a bin for your new home will provide you with the service from 1 June 2025 to 31 March 2026, after which date you will need to renew the service.

Direct debit collection dates

Direct debit payments are collected on 1 April or the next working day for every subscription year.

If you paid by direct debit in the last subscription year for collections from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2025, we will automatically renew the service for 2025 to 2026.

If you're a new direct debit customer, your first payment (for 2025 to 2026) will be taken by card. Payment for following years will automatically be taken via direct debit. Your direct debit will start on 1 April 2026, or the next working day, when payment will be collected.

You can share a bin with a neighbour

This is a mutual agreement: one of you must order and pay for the bin. The person who orders and pays for the bin must report a missed collection. We cannot become involved in disputes between neighbours over a shared bin.

You are able to order a bin for someone else

When you are ordering please specify the address where the garden waste bin is located. All correspondence will be sent to the address from where the garden waste collection will be made.

The assisted list

If you are on the assisted list, this will apply to the garden waste service as well. More about getting help with collections
