National database of addresses
Updating the National Address Gazetteer
The council is responsible for updating the National Address Gazetteer (NAG) for properties within Hinckley & Bosworth Borough. The NAG is the national address and street database for the UK.
We updated the NAG by maintaining the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG).
Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council will update the LLPG with all authorised new street names and property details. These will be made in line with BS7666:2010 'Spatial Data-sets for geographical referencing' or the most recent relevant adopted standard.
The council will liaise with Royal Mail in order to allocate postcodes for newly developed properties. However, the council is not responsible for assigning postcodes. For further information on postcode finder (royalmail.com), or telephone Royal Mail: 09063 021222 (postcode enquiries).
