Statement of community involvement (SCI)

Overview

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) (PDF) sets out the standards to which the council will engage and consult the public and other stakeholders during the production of the Local Plan, as well as when dealing with planning applications. Planning Practice Guidance requires local planning authorities to review their SCIs every five years. As the adopted SCI was adopted in 2019, the council has decided to consult on a new SCI which will replace the existing SCI.

The consultation period on the revised Statement of Community Involvement (PDF) will run from Monday 1 July 2024 to 5pm on Monday 29 July 2024. All representations received during this period will be taken into account by the Borough Council in preparing a final version of the SCI, prior to it being considered for adoption at a meeting of the full Council.

From Monday 1 July 2024 and for the duration of the consultation period, the SCI will be available to view online on this page or in paper copy at the following locations:

(9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4:30pm Friday)

All comments will be made available to view on this website shortly after the consultation has finished. The council will review all of the comments received and the draft SCI will be amended where necessary, prior to adoption by the council.
