Spooktacular Saturday returns to Hinckley
Ghosts, ghouls, witches and wizards descended upon Hinckley’s haunted Britannia Centre as Spooktacular Saturday returned at the weekend.
The ever-popular Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council event took place in the town centre on Saturday, with families, children and residents all able to enjoy a range of FREE Halloween activities.
Those brave enough to visit the fang-tastic event were able to take part in pumpkin bowling, while a themed stilt walker entertained crowds. Little ones also enjoyed creepy crafts and spooky stone painting, before having freaky face paint stencilled onto ghostly faces.
Many visitors to the town came in their best Halloween fancy dress, with prizes for the creepiest costume handed out on the day. Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth, Councillor Dawn Glenville, judged the competition, handing out prizes to the winners.
Local radio station Fosse 107 also joined the haunting by providing the spooky soundtrack to the day.
Executive Member for Culture, Leisure, Tourism and Town Centre, Cllr Keith Nichols said:
It was fantastic to see so many spooky faces and creepy costumes turn out on Saturday. Everyone had a fang-tastic time at what always proves to be a popular event with families. Our thanks to everyone who came along and took part - and congratulations to the best dressed visitors, too.
