Aged 11 to 19 and interested in local politics?
Why not join the Hinckley and Bosworth Voice Forum.
Hinckley and Bosworth Voice Forum is a youth forum group for children and young people, aged 11 to 19 living in or attending school in the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth.
The forum is run by Children and Young People’s Team at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and gives young people a platform to have their say on the services that are provided for them locally, the opportunity to get involved with local politics, express their opinion and insights into national issues and help make a difference to their community.
Meeting on the first Wednesday of the month, they are currently meeting virtually with the aim of re-introducing in person meetings. The next meeting is on Wednesday 1 September at 6pm.
Topics covered can include climate change, health and wellbeing, food poverty, crime and anti-social behaviour, CV opportunities, volunteering and lots more.
Councillor Robin Webber-Jones, Children & Young People’s Champion at the Borough Council said:
Our Voice forum holds monthly sessions that give young people the chance to express their ideas, opinions and views with decision makers such as council staff, members of the council executive committee and staff of other organisations.
We eagerly welcome new members to the Voice forum and as we re-start after our summer break we wish some of our member’s good luck as they head off to university where we hope they continue to pursue their interest in politics. If you are interested in local politics and want to know how you can help improve and change things why not get in touch.
