More than 1,300 young people in Hinckley are being supported to steer them away from the path to antisocial behaviour.

As part of the Community Safety Partnership, the Borough Council has supported Streetvibe Young People’s Service with their work in Hinckley town centre.

Youth bus sessions in the Argents Mead area of the town have engaged with 1,322 young people. The bus sessions provide a safe and engaging space for the young people to get involved with activities and address personal issues in a supported environment.

The work has actively identified and supported young people at risk of disengagement and isolation through targeted interventions which reduces the likelihood of them becoming involved in anti-social behaviour.

The Streetvibe bus is in Argents Mead, next to Hinckley Leisure Centre, Fridays from 3.30pm – 5.30pm and is open to all young people aged 13-19 years.

The Community Safety Partnership continues to allocate a proportion of their funds from the Police and Crime Commissioner Partnership Locality Fund to support the Streetvibe Youth outreach.

Cllr Michael Mullaney, Executive Member for Community Safety, said: "There are so many young people with bright futures in Hinckley and Bosworth, and it’s great to see the work the Community Safety Partnership are doing to support them.

“The youth bus sessions are a fantastic initiative, with over 70 already taking place this year, and I hope they continue for many years to come.”
