Town celebrates St George’s Day

Hinckley celebrated St George's Day with a special programme of traditional entertainment on Saturday (26 April).

The event offered plenty of free entertainment and activities for the whole family including morris dancing, Tom the Tale Teller, children’s crafts provided by the United Reform Church, St George on stilts, a fun trail plus a new play Two Women Meet in Heaven, performed by the Red River Theatre Company.

Events Coordinator for the Borough Council Cat Stilling said: “This is the 20th year that the Borough Council have organised an event to celebrate St George’s Day. It is a popular annual event that offers something for all ages to experience while enjoying the town’s shops and bustling market stalls. I hope everyone who came along enjoyed celebrating our national day with us.”
