Review to look at how local communities are run
Published Thursday, 24 February 2022
PEOPLE in Hinckley and Bosworth are being given their say on how their local communities are run.
This is because the Borough Council is reviewing parish and town council electoral arrangements in the borough and wants to hear people’s views.
Called a Community Governance Review, it will look at how local communities across the area are governed to make sure the arrangements are appropriate and relevant. It has been 10 years since the last review took place.
The review will consider:
- Creating, merging, altering or abolishing parishes
- The naming of parishes and the style of new parishes
- The electoral arrangements for parishes (the ordinary year of election; council size; the number of councillors to be elected to the council, and parish warding)
- Grouping parishes under a common parish council
The deadline for initial consultation is Wednesday 18 May.
The terms of reference can be viewed online at or at the Hinckley Hub. Maps showing the current boundaries can also be viewed on the website or at the Hub.
